Alexander Pushkin memorial


This statue in Minsk is dedicated to Alexander Pushkin, considered the greatest of all Russian poets. Puskin lived from June 8, 1799 until his death on Feb. 11, 1837. His well-known works include the drama Boris Godunov and the novel Eugene Onegin. Pushkin was fatally wounded during a duel with his brother-in-law, who tried to seduce Pushkin’s wife.
