Roses for the Nyamiha stampede

Fifty-three people died during the so-called Nyamiha stampede on May 30, 1999, when a sudden thunderstorm caused a number of young people fro a near-by open-air concert to seek shelter in the Nyamiha metro station in Minsk, Belarus. The tragedy resulted in a countrywide three-day mourning period, and these sculpted roses are part of a memorial to the dead.
