Victory Holiday wreath

Below Victory Square in the center of Minsk, Belarus, is a colored glass wreath that memorializes the Soviet victory in the Great Patriotic War (aka World War II). The wreath is flanked by a mural reading “Victory Holiday” (shown) and a plaque containing the names of 566 soldiers. Minsk was designated trhe Hero City in 1974 because it was the center of Belarusian resistance to Nazi occupation.
