Adobe Lightroom is an amazing tool, but sometimes images seem to disappear from the folders in a catalog. So what is a photographer to do? Learning how to sync the Lightroom folder so all of the images reappear is easy.
Just follow these simple steps:
- Right click on the offending folder.
- Click on “Sync Folder.”
- In the “Sync Folder” dialog, ensure two boxes are checked: “Import new photos” and “Show import dialog before importing.”
- Click “Synchronize.”
- The import dialog will appear, and you should look in the “File Handling” panel in the upper right-hand corner. Ensure the “Don’t import suspected duplicates” box is unchecked (if it’s checked, images often are not available for importing).
- Click “Import” in the bottom right.
Voila: All of your images should then be pulled into your Lightroom catalog, making them available to edit. And don’t forget that you can purchase the Adobe Photographer’s Plan that includes Photoshop and Lightroom for just $9.99 per month.
