Bayou Chevereau deep in the Atchafalaya Basin is a wonderful example of the beauty of the United States' largest overflow swamp. The cypress tree-lined bayou twists from Bear Bayou north of Flat Lake to Bayou Sorrel.

Henderson swamp near Lafayette, La., i studded with Spanish moss-draped cypress trees. A dreary, cloud-covered day provided the opportunity to create a vintage sepia look at a cluster of cypress trees on what anglers call the North Flats.
