Bayou Chevereau deep in the Atchafalaya Basin is a wonderful example of the beauty of the United States' largest overflow swamp. The cypress tree-lined bayou twists from Bear Bayou north of Flat Lake to Bayou Sorrel.

Duck Lake sits in the middle of the Atchafalaya Basin, and is a beautiful example of Louisiana's swamplands. There's little more beautiful than watching the sun rise through the flooded cypress trees.

New Orleans' Jackson Square is lined with old, Spanish-style buildings that date back to the 1800s. The streets on three sides are closed to all but pedestrian traffic, providing space for artists, bands and fortune tellers to do business.
