My favorite photos include Bassmaster Elite Series pros Matt Lee, Brandon Lester, Josh Bertrand and David Walker

Bassmaster Elite Series pro Justin Lucas, who finished second in the St. Lawrence River Bassmaster Elite Series stop, battled this nice smallmouth to the boat on Day 1.
The St. Lawrence River has a reputation as a great smallmouth fishery — but nothing prepared me for the show put on when the Bassmaster Elite Series stopped in Waddington, N.Y. At the end of the four-day tournament, Elite Series pro Josh Bertrand rose to the top to claim the victory with more than 95 pounds.
This stop of the Elite Series was the final regular-season event, with anglers not only vying for the $100,000 top prize but valuable Angler of the Year points. It was one of those events in which failing to weigh in 20 pounds a day left you in the peanut gallery. And I was there documenting the fishing action for Bassmaster.com.
I ran all over the St. Lawrence River, following anglers including winner Bertrand, Matt Lee, David Walker and Brandon Lester. Along the way, I shot other pros like Paul Elias and Gerald Swindle. It was a blast.
The slideshow above contains 35 of my favorite photos from the event. You can see more of my work from the event by jumping over to Bassmaster.com, where I posted daily photo galleries that included many more images than in this slideshow.
Shooting Bassmaster Elite Series events is one of the highlights of my job. The next stop will be the Bassmaster Angler of the Year Championship on Chatuge Lake in Young Harris, Ga. — and I’ll be there shooting more photo galleries, so stay tuned. It should be wild.
