Mood set for ‘A Summer in Doubt’ by amazing swamp photography

Learn how author Dex Winchester used this amazing Louisiana swamp photography to illustrate his newest book.
The new mystery novel “A Summer in Doubt’ is set in Louisiana, so author Dex Winchester wanted the cover to transport his readers to the setting as soon as they looked at the cover. So he chose a photo I captured deep in the heart of the Louisiana swamps to illustrate the front of the book.
“This photo beautifully captured the essence of the story I told,” Winchester said.
This amazing photo titled “Cypress Tunnel” was taken at Bayou Teche National Wildlife Refuge, and it shows an old cypress run with sunlight beaming through the flooded cypress trees.
Winchester’s book “A Summer in Doubt” is available on Lulu, and costs $13.99 in paperback.
Here’s a synopsis of the novel from the website:
“The summer in Louisiana is hot, and the action is hotter yet as three teenage boys become the chief suspects in a string of robberies unlike their small town has ever seen. It may have been a case of wrong place, wrong time, but the damage has already been done. The town is on high alert as the robberies unfold, and the police are desperate to make an arrest. The local police department won’t believe the boys’ claims of innocence, as they search for evidence to arrest the boys. It is up to Dante, Anthony, and Miles to prove their innocence, and bring the villains to justice. The three teens enlist the help of an unforgettable cast of characters in their race against time, and the police. Will the boys succeed in their attempt to capture the criminals, or will the police foil their plans?”

An old cypress run cuts through the Bayou Teche National Wildlife Refuge swamp, forming a tunnel through which the afternoon light streams. The runs were created when the virgin cypress forests were timbered decades ago.
