George Rodrigue Blue Dog, Drew Brees print also being auctioned to benefit Autism Society of Greater New Orleans
A custom-framed print of the famed New Orleans French Quarter will be auctioned off April 18 as part of the Autism Society of Greater New Orleans’ 11th Annual Autism Awareness Festival.
This custom-framed print depicting the New Orleans French Quarter’s Jackson Square is being auctioned as part to benefit the Autism Society of Greater New Orleans.
Another print by the late George Rodrigue, showing his iconic Blue Dog with New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, is being auctioned online as part of the fundraiser.
The festival will be held at First Baptist New Orleans located at 5920 Canal Boulevard in New Orleans, and all proceeds go to help raise awareness of the abilities of those with autism.
The New Orleans print to be auctioned was captured from Washington Artillery Park on the banks of the Mississippi River and shows an early morning view of the world-famous Jackson Square backed by the Cabildo, St. Louis Cathedral and the Presbytere.
The 16-inch-by-24-inch print is mounted on matboard and custom framed by Marchand’s Interior and Hardware in Gonzales, La.
Photographer to donate portion of proceeds to Autism Society of Greater New Orleans
This George Rodrigue Blue Dog print, which features Saints quarterback Drew Brees, is being auctioned by the Autism Society of Greater New Orleans.
In addition to the donation of the New Orleans print, photographer Andy Crawford will donate 15 percent of all artist proceeds from sales of his work through the end of April.
“Autism touches so many families today, and the work done by the Autism Society helps raise awareness of this complex affliction,” Crawford said. “I’m proud to be able to support this effort, and hope you will join me. It doesn’t matter how small or how large the purchase — from a pack of greeting cards to a 108-inch print — I will gladly write out a check to the Autism Society of New Orleans to help further their mission. But remember that the larger your purchase the more help this great organization will receive
“You might not be able to be in New Orleans for the festival, so bidding on the Blue Dog print or purchasing some of my photography is a great way to be involved in the awesome work with which this group is involved.”
